The Temryuk district is situated in the south-western part of the Krasnodar region and has an advantageous economic and geographical position in the south of Russia, and is totally unique in every respect and harmoniously combining the beauty of nature with rich flora and fauna.

The main sectors characterizing the economy of the Temryuk district are agriculture, transport, tourism and recreation complexes. The mild climate and rich natural resources contribute to development of these industries. The district is one of the leading places in Russia for the production of grapes and wine products.

The Municipal Formation Temryuk District directly shares its borders with the Republic of Crimea and has a coastline of the Azov and Black Seas. The Taman Peninsula with its small area has three international ports – Temryuk, Kavkaz and Taman. Non-freezing waters of the ports, a convenient transport scheme, the possibility of any cargoes transshipment and free from building lands for the establishment of transshipment terminals allow further successfully developing the port activity in the district.

There are more than 200 km of sandy beaches with healing mud wells along the coast of the Temryuk District. And tourist routes are being developed as well providing significant opportunities for the development of sanatorium and resort industry. The district is also characterized by unique historical and archeological values recognized worldwide. The history of these places associated with the culture of the Roman Empire and the origins of Christianity and the ancient Russian state system.

Creation of the modern coast infrastructure and further development of tourist routes, which give a comprehensive picture of the inexhaustible wealth of our resort and historical heritage, is one of the main priorities of the investment policy of the Administration of the Municipal Formation Temryuk District.

Favorable conditions for the development of the district are caused by the presence of the existing railway and road network including that one of federal significance, as well as proximity of the Anapa International Airport and operation of the railway ferry between the ports of Kavkaz and Crimea.
