A laboratory for accelerated propagation of grapes in vitro

What is planned to be done during the implementation of the project: in the process of the project implementation, it is planned to build a modern laboratory for accelerated propagation of grapes using the in vitro method. This method will allow, in the shortest possible time, to obtain virus-free planting material for new promising high-yielding and frost-resistant grape varieties including the selections of Taman Biotechnological Center Innovation Company LLC from meristem tissues for laying elite and basic mother plants. At the same time, the terms of reproduction for samples of selection achievements before the production of industrial batches of seedlings is reduced from 8-10 to 1-2 years.

More than 70 grape hybrids are currently being propagated in the laboratory. The finished production volume of elite planting material is at least 100,000 seedlings per year.

The laboratory includes an experimental plant-breeding plot, where work with more than 400 varieties and hybrid forms of grapes from almost all countries of the world is being carried out.

Full commissioning of the facility is planned for the current year.
