Temryuk district benefits from its strategic location in the southwest of
Krasnodar region on the Taman peninsula. It shares a border with the Republic
of Crimea and boasts a coastline along the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea,
facilitating the growth of the seaports Kavkaz, Taman, and Temryuk.
The unique climate in this area supports the successful development
of the agro-industrial sector.
Soil conditions allow growing many agricultural crops: grapes, cereals,
melons.
The main focus of agricultural production in the district is on
viticulture and winemaking. There is a strong foundation for
winemaking in the area, with 15 winemaking organizations
established, three of which are involved in garage (signature)
winemaking.
In Temryuk district, grapes play a crucial role as the primary cultivated
crop, covering 75% of the total area in Krasnodar region. The district
also hosts 288 small-scale farming enterprises, comprising 214
individual entrepreneurs and 74 peasant farms.
In line with the strategy of Krasnodar region, Temryuk district is
included in the Black Sea Economic Zone.
