  • Temryuk district is one of the major agricultural districts of the Krasnodar region.
  • Agriculture is like an open-air ‘workshop’.
  • There are 57 large farms and 229 small peasant farms involved in processing agricultural products in the district.
  • One of the main focuses is grape growing and wine production. In Kuban region, 75% of the vineyards cover an area of 18,000 hectares, yielding over 100,000 tonnes of grapes each year.
  • In 2022, a record was set for grape production, surpassing any previous records in the Soviet Union or modern Russia. Over 200,000 tonnes of grapes were harvested, with an average yield of 129,6 c/ha.

Recreational resources

  • Temryuk district is a truly unique place with over 700 archaeological monuments protected by the state. Some of these monuments are incredibly ancient, taking us on a historical journey back almost one and a half million years ago.
  • Temryuk district has joined the interregional tourist project called the “Golden Ring of the Bosporan Kingdom.” This project features a tourist route that passes through the locations of ancient cities from the ancient state. The route covers 10 cities situated in Krasnodar region, the Republic of Crimea, Rostov region, and the city of Sevastopol.

Taman Peninsula

Fanagoria Museum-Reserve

District visitors can explore the ancient history of the Taman Peninsula at the Fanagoria Museum-Reserve. Situated within an archaeological site, the museum stands on the remains of an ancient city that thrived for over 1,500 years.

Ataman Museum

The special open-air museum Ataman is a recreated Cossack village from the 19th and 20th centuries. It introduces visitors to the history of the Kuban Cossacks. This ethno-tourist complex is constructed in real-life dimensions and includes multiple streets. All the structures are replicas of the authentic buildings, designed with the unique features of Cossack living in mind. The complex offers master classes and activities for its guests.

Fanagoria agro-industrial company

In Temryuk district, you can find one of Russia’s largest enterprises that handles the entire production process, Fanagoria agro-industrial company. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the country’s largest wine cellar spanning three thousand square meters, witness its cooperage, and sample award-winning wines that receive medals every year at various international exhibitions in Austria, Japan, France, Slovakia, and other countries.

Cossack farmstead

The Cossack farmstead is situated in Kurchanskaya village, by the estuary of the same name. Here, tourists can enjoy a petting zoo, fishing, and horse riding activities.

Lotus Valley

A popular tourist attraction is a trip to the Lotus Valley.

Taman vine

Every summer, Taman hosts a festival called Taman Vine that celebrates the traditions of grape growing and winemaking.
